So this past weekend, as always, was filled with things to do and projects to accomplish...well that and buying shoes. I went to the Rosebowl Flea Market and purchased a few pieces, got my first Penelope and Coco pair of shoezies ;), and found a pair of amazing leopard heals by Zigi Girl that I had to have. My grandma also took me to a new place that I can now say is yet another sanctuary of mine to escape to called Akashic Bookstore. I didn't even get to see the whole store because the jewelry was in front and we had to leave...after an hour of looking in one case :) I will take pictures of the rings my grandma bought me later. They are beautiful vintage rings...my fav :)

If you haven't heard of Mr.Kate jewelry you have to check her out...I am not sure what exactly she DOESN'T do. Interior Design, Jewelry, Videos, DIYs and Amazingness...oober jealous! Anywho this Stache is made by her and I also received an ear cuff in the mail that you will later see once I develop my film :). This weekend was so much fun! As per ushhh I went home for the weekend to spend time with the loves of my life. Food, working out, naps and Malibu Winery. It was a perfect weekend that I most definitely needed, despite the fact that I don't really drink wine. Ya I said it I don't really drink wine. I have tried SO MANY and I still have yet to find my favorite, although on Sunday at Malibu Winery my friend and I thought some white wine sounded crispy. And to my surprise this Orange Muscat (sp/don't know if that's really the name of it) was really good. Of course me being the annoying picture whore, I was all over this place taking pictures right and left and even got in trouble with the security guard for "hiking drunk up the dirt hill..."errr I wasn't THAT drunk geez I just wanted a good pic! Doesn't he know about good lighting! Anywho my other friend was patient enough/artsy enough/amazing enough to tag along with me with her camera as we took pictures like we were dating. It was glorious. I will for sure be posting them soon...like I said earlier. mmmmmm guess that's it. This is a fb status that stood out to me today:
Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize you have lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones.

So lately, as in probably the last month or so, I have been strangely addicted to taking pictures of food and lights with my Instagram camera (which by the way I am super super excited that my dad is giving me his Nikon D200 Camera). Well on FNO, mmmm Venice, my friend Taylar and I passed this store that looked more like a home, but was closed. So instead of going in, which I would have totally done, I took a picture (duh). If I could have foliage like this in my studio errrrrr 400 sq foot apartment :) I would. But to compensate I do have a light up tree branch thing that sits in a glass jar by my tv as well as lights that hang from my mirror...that are on...sometimes. I think I need one of those balls...oo and maybe a chandelier, although my apartment was made in the 50's so there's a lot of dry wall....also known as me with my gfs trying to hang a mosquito canopy net when I first moved in...in dry wall...for 4 hours...but we did it :D and if you knew me you would find this very entertaining if you were a fly on the wall.. mmmmm yay... needless to say there are a few holes in my ceiling that from time to time make me jump because I think it's a spider..since I can't technically see much without my contacts.. once I am in bed...on that note it's time for bed and I am sooooooooo happy to see my lovie tomorrow night for some brainstorming and projects...stay tuned ;) oh and I will probably continue to upload pics of lights and food...haven't been in the clothes mood...but then again that could change tomorrow :) night.

I have definitely done a post regarding Penelope and coco. Well I can truly say that the woman behind the shoe line is the most gorgeous, talented and brilliant person. Her shoes are like art pieces. I FINALLY was able to grab a pair and I CANNOT wait to get them in the mail aka every time someone comes into work with a package I think it's for me....Anywho I went to this shindig at the Revolve store for a little drinky poo of some champagne to see Penelope and coco as well as some other vendors. And ofcourse bloggers and photogs where there :) to my lovely surprise my girlfriend found this gem on Refinery 29

Ok so about half my News Feed on FB is <3 engaged to blah blah...mostly EVERYONE from high school. So it got me thinking...well first off I would need a man...but second engagement photos duh!...where and what will I be wearing?! I see all these pictures on the beach or like the meadow with branches and crap...I NEED to be different. I came across this Elle spread of Justin and Mila and died. Justin, yum. Mila, gorg. Perfect couple, perfect pictures. THIS is what I would want...or at least something like it!...well I mean I would love JT in my engagement photos, but monkeys aren't flying out of my ass anytime soon AND I would love to look like Mila BUT I wont :)...I just love the innocence of these pictures and how beautiful they are. Luckily my Dad is a photographer, check him out here. My best friend is a ridiculous Hair Stylist and can do ANYTHING! Check her out here. ...and now for a man....any takers ;)... Wow. I have not been on for 9 months! Crazyness. Well this is what I have been up to....hmmm since January...I have moved on from retail and onto wholesale...went from being in a relationship for 7 years to being single...went from blonde to ombre (figured I would follow the trend)...went from eating sweets on the reg to none at all....went from buying to DIYing....pretty much sums it up..haven't missed much :) Here are some pictures (if you aren't already friends with me on FB-I am a whore when it comes to pictures) to see what I have been..well...doing...?...

I have been on the hunt for the PERFECT dreamcatcher sifting through vintage and thrift stores to Anthropology to crazy expensive ones online and I FINALLY found it...at UO of all places! I was with a girlfriend of mine and when I saw it I got the chills...thats when I know it's something I HAVE to have! It is beautiful...the feathers, the turquoise stones, the color...its me...if I was a dreamcatcher :)

So I did it...I did what EVERY other Fashionista has done and went Ombre. I felt like I had to at least try it and I am not gonna lie, I really really love it. I am going in on Saturday to get more blonde at the tips. I get so bored and I am ALWAYS changing my hair because it always grows :)

It was my birthday on the 2nd, so what did I do? ummm shop...and when I mean shop I mean go into every Vintage store in Ocean Beach and find any goodie I could get my hands on. Luckily my friend Lynds is patient enough to tag along. I was on the mission for jewelry and furniture. Did and done.

Made time for last minute adventures...K and I at the W hotel for a random night of fun...it feels good to be spontaneous.

So I had a meeting to go to the other day and needed a purse to fit all of my crap in. Needless to say I had my heart set on this one purse..size of a carry-on, for awhile and I made it mine. The purse is by the sisters Stacy and Laurie McFadin. They are all Handmade in Texas with the inspiration of Fashion, Love, and their Texan Heritage! Check out their website, they have this Amazing fringe purse I am drooling over ehem Hanukkah/Christmas...Well back to traffic school..they have this timer situation now so you can't go forward until the timer is up therefore you have to take 8 hours of online traffic school :( I'm never speeding again! the other day I really wanted to go out exploring downtown so I went and found this amazing little boutique on 9th street called Virgo. I noticed their style was very much like mine and where I work so I had to peek inside! Sure enough they knew where I worked and they said they love it! It is the beginning of a new chapter...I had my birthday and now I am moving out of the parental's house to Hollywood where I belong <3. Words cannot describe my excitement for Oct 3rd. I have now got the handle on the new Iphone App called Hipstamatic and have become so obsessed that I bought all the App has to offer including different flashes, lenses and film! It is so much fun to play with! I was bored driving home from work in traffic and decided to take a pic of my new favorite piece of jewelry..I got it at a boutique on Robertson..I forget the name, but it was totally cheap! Yesterday my coworker wanted to stop into Joyrich and I just had to go :) I ended up getting a leopard hoodie thats to die for and I'm sure you'll see it in future posts. At the store I came across these AMAZING Grey Ant Sunglasses that I am truly Dying over!!! I totally forgot to post some of these pictures from our Malibu Winery Birthday bash for my cousin!! It was sooo gorgeous, made me miss weekends off..having a sat and sun off would be my ultimate dream haha. Anywho it was for my Cousins 40th Birthday and you get to taste wine all day! If I had to go to any type of awards ceremony etc this would be what I would be wearing. Sorry it has been so long with my posts. Work has been kinda hectic and I got a new job!! I am soo excited for the new challenges that lay ahead! Bring it on responsibility!!! So today was my day off and I had to go to the dentist..awesome. Not only did I have to go to the dentist I had to fix what my old dentist screwed up...my fillings..just lovely. My mouth is currently numb and my lip feels like its out to Pluto and I am starving beyond belief. I decided since my gym visits are now down to 3 days a week maybe 4 if I'm lucky, that I would go to the gym before my dentist appointment, not giving me anytime to eat. Now its been since 830 since I have had anything and I want to eat my arm off slash take massive amounts of pain killers because the numbness is going down and I can feel my tooth pulsating. Sweet. Anyways today I am going to go to my adorable bargain boutique and see if I can find any goodies...I went to the Closet the other day and found a MinkPink top for $11..it had my name written ALL over it!!! The day I took these pictures I had off of work and went to Brents Deli (Amazing place by far my most favorite restaurant) as well as hoping over to the mall to grab some things..later that night I had bday celebrations for my boyfriend with his entire family, including Jeff and Kate who came from SacTown!!! It was awesome seeing Kate with her little baby bump! Shes gonna be an adorable mom and you can't even tell she is pregnant from the back shes so tiny!!! Today was a wonderful day off that consisted of nails, blogging, eyebrows waxed and ofcourse, barnes and noble. Amanda took pics of me today...and we went to Bargain Boutique. I ended up getting a $20 full length fur coat, bow earrings, gorgeous ring and a beautiful candle holder that matches the one I bought there on a previous outing..gotta love old people volunteering at a thrift store. I also started a new chapter today too! I used to be a workout junkie, but with my long hour days at work I have become a slacker and I hate it! Sooo I have decided to quit 24 hr fitness and go back to the small gym I used to go to called M6 Fitness. I will now be taking a 730am bootcamp class everyday and start my morning off right! I am sooo stoked and tonight I got to take my most favorite class ever..Boxing!!! I am such a happy camper right now! Cant wait to get back into shape and feel less blah!!!

My day ONLY consisted of my nails and my clothes not being taken by any thrift store ( off to goodwill) and getting a $40 ticket violation for parking in red ( I DIDNT park in the red and took a picture), lovely BUT my one most happiest moment of today was getting my clip-in hair extentions..yes I chose clip-in ones because I figured I still love my short hair too...anyways they arent exactly the same color, but close enough and I am in love! Today was a gorgeous day off of work! My friend Amanda (as I have said in previous posts is an Art History Major) needed to find a sculpture to write about at the Getty Villa. I was so stoked when she wanted me to come with her! I had never been to the getty villa and was thrilled I had someone to go with :) Our friend Stephanie and her mom came as well...It was a nice little outing! Today was one of my days off of work and I decided to reorganize my room. In doing so I made a list of things that I really want to make my room, more of well my room. While going to San Diego State and living with my amazing roommates I was able to decorate and make my room my own, but now that I moved back in with the parents I feel like its more of a transitional stage so I haven't fully put all of me into it. My really good girlfriend Amanda told me about a vintage store named Filth Mart and couldn't wait to take me! It is a little hole in the wall with the best vintage I have seen yet!! Anything from Rolling Stone Tees, to Levi denim vests, and even handmade vintage sweatshirts by Darren Le Gallo!! I am definitely going to save up my paycheck for one of his sweatshirts ($250). I mean ya its really expensive, but you are wearing a piece of art, literally!! I tried to find his artwork online, but I couldn't find anything except this. The pieces he makes for Filth Mart are one of a kind and totally random. He makes it up as he goes with skulls, faces and quotes. Filth Mart is located on N. Fairfax Ave and their number is 323.848.8613. Check out their website here.
Along with checking out Filth Mart I came across a commercial for another buy-sell-trade company called The Closet. It just so happens it is only 15 min away from my house! I wasn't expecting much, but as soon as I walked in I already found things I would buy. Mind you I live in a town where True Religion Brand jeans and a sparkly top are the hottest thing around, so to my surprise there was more to this little resale boutique. Not only did I find $70 Frye mint condition boots (that I had to squeezzeeee my lil foot into) I found a silk leopard dress (totally not into leopard but for some reason this dress was perfect to me) I also picked up a pair of classic ray ban ish knockoffs. I am such a happy camper with all of my purchases!! The owner is named Johanna and she was the nicest girl ever! She even owns the one in Santa Barbara on State Street! Check her website out here.

Don't worry I am not going to spoil the documentary for any of you, but this film is pure perfection. If you have not seen it you must go and see for yourself how utterly amazing Anna Wintour is. Her crisp attitude and passion for Vogue is indescribable. As the Editor and Chief of Vogue Magazine Anna is describe by others as the "Pope" and her siblings refer to her job as "amusing." Without a doubt the daughter of Charles Wintour, former Editor of the Evening Standard, is remarkable at her job. Wintour has been in the fashion world since 1970 working at Harpers & Queen, Harper's Bazaar, Creative Director of American Vogue, Editor-in-Chief at British Vogue and finally Editor-in-Chief in 1988 of American Vogue!! And on top of all that has raised over $10 million for AIDS charities since 1990. I went and saw the documentary at the ArcLight theater in L.A. and the director of the film, RJ Cutler, was there to introduce us to his work!! What an awesome surprise!! Anywho go out and see September Issue you won't be disappointed, and if you are ,then you truly are not the fashionista you say you are ;)

Before the documentary my parents really wanted me to see Laserium!! It is a full on light show, lasers and all, to music like Pink Floyd and the Beatles! Needless to say it was awesome!! Back in my parents day ( ;) ) they would go to these shows high out of their mind and watch the lights go nuts and now Laserium has brought back that amazing experience our parents had! The theater is on Hollywood and Vine and you can purchase tickets or just check out their website here!

I have always been a Nordys girl at heart, but ever since working in the Fashion Industry and following fashion blogs like it's my job, I have grown a true appreciation for thrift and for vintage. My friend Amanda was so excited to take me thrift shopping that we decided to go yesterday since I had the day off. We ended up going to a local thrift store that she had never been in and was dying to see what it was like. Bargain Boutique is not only a great place it is run by Senior Citizens! All the grandmas were adorable! It has great clothes, furniture, and accessories..even though it was our first store I ended up getting my first pair of Vintage sunglasses and a really cool candle holder that reminded me of anthropologie. We headed over to Melrose where Amanda found two amazing purses! (so jealous). We have soo many more stores on our list!! Anywho here are my first pieces!!

I am going to try my best and post a blog everyday, so sorry for not posting one last night. I came home from work and ended up going out to dinner with friends and stayed out pretty late. Work was exhausting today and I am so ready for a better day tomorrow. Last week I went to Barnes and Noble and came across a book called Real Simple Solutions . It shows all these really neat diys!! I am sure most of you have heard of it and I have too, but I finally got a chance to look through it and here are some of the cool ideas it mentioned..

Ok so maybe my camera taking skills of the page werent so great buttt this is an ice maker tray and what a nifty idea! Use it not only for ice, but for your little trinkits..rings, earrings etc!! I thought it was cool because I am always loosing little earrings in my jewelry drawer.

Luckily today was my day off of work so my plan was to flip through magazines, shoe browse, update myself with the blogs I follow as well as study some designers.
